~Invest in Your Heart~

I just read a very interesting article on irregular heartbeat linked to death in women. Heart disease is the #1 killer in women in the United States. Most people think that more men get this disease and kills more men but it doesn't. I have worked for years in a heart hospital, the best in the nation actually! Oklahoma Heart Hospital! Every year they have a "Go Red for Women" month, which is in February. February is Heart Awarness month or Go Red for Women! I recently read an article about women and irregular heart beat, a great article! Check it out: http://yourlife.usatoday.com/health/medical/womenshealth/story/2011/05/Study-suggests-new-guidelines-for-women-with-rapid-heart-beat/47550368/1?dlvrit=206567

I have a strong family history of heart disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, valve disorders and diabetes. So I for sure go for my check ups with my cardiologist at least once a year. Dont wait until it's too late. It's better to be safe than sorry!

Tornado Alley

Well the Mid-West has had some severe weather the past few days. Joplin, MO has seen the worst this year, probably the worst in the states history. Over 118 dead and they are still looking for people. It is so sad what happened to that area. It really makes you sit back and look at everything going on in your life. Kind of makes you realize life is and can be very fragile. A lot of people take life for granted and I think this is one of those moments where you look back and realize it can be gone within seconds. Well Oklahoma is faced with some severe weather today. Strong winds, lots of hail, severe thunderstorms and possible tornadoes. One can only hope it is not as devastating as the was the storm in Joplin. It's better to be safe than sorry!
This is what is getting ready to hit Oklahoma hard! And there are a lot of storm chasers out there!
